Simple Commenter Update 1.0.6: Associated Comments, Comments List, and More
Simple Commenter has grown rapidly over the past months, bringing with it a surge of valuable feature requests. I'm thrilled to announce the release of Simple Commenter update 1.0.6, introducing significant improvements designed to make your annotation feedback experience smoother and more insightful.
What's New in Simple Commenter 1.0.6
Associated Comments
Your clients can now easily add their name and optionally their email when leaving comments. This feature doesn’t require your clients to log in, making the user experience seamless and efficient.
- Client-Friendly Login: Name and email details are stored locally, ensuring clients don’t need to repeatedly enter their information.
- Future Notifications: Soon, clients will have the option to receive email notifications for comment updates or when their feedback is resolved.

Once they've entered their name, all their comments become associated.

Associating comments is optional—users can still choose to comment anonymously.
Comments List
Managing your annotations has never been easier! With the new Comments List feature, you can quickly see and navigate all open comments directly on your webpage.
- Clear Overview: Instantly view the number and status of open comments.
- Quick Navigation: Click on comments in the list to automatically anchor directly to their location on the webpage.
- Visibility Awareness: Comments linked to hidden elements are clearly marked and appear once the relevant element becomes visible.

Meta Data Capture
Understanding your clients' perspective and troubleshooting bug reports just got easier with built-in metadata collection.
- Device and Browser Details: Simple Commenter now records client metadata, such as operating system and browser type, clearly indicating if the comment originated from mobile or desktop.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Comments are now properly hidden if their associated element is not visible, preventing annotation markers from becoming stuck.
- Resolved a responsive layout bug affecting the reply function when screen sizes changed.
- Comment markers are constrained to remain visible within the viewport boundaries.
Looking Ahead
Simple Commenter update 1.0.6 enhances the annotation experience significantly, setting the stage for future competitive updates. Upcoming releases will focus on further refining the user experience, expanding notification features, and continuously integrating your valuable feedback.
Thank you for your continued support. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions for new features, feel free to reach out!
Happy annotating, Aleksander
